I still can*t shake the sounds
and words of *Rant* and *Rave,* director D.J. Kadagian*s hypnotic
poetry-in-motion double bill. It was a moving, mesmerizing moment at the 31st
Cleveland International Film Festival. These were movies that made you want to
do the unthinkable: Read poems. C O
They are subtle, playful, gorgeous and rich, and represent a great
fusion of visual poetics, powerful readings, and texts that make your heart
burst with the beauty of it all.

What really
impressed, with the obvious exception of Rumi, was both Antonio Machado (Last
Night I As I Was Sleeping: which spoke to me in a very powerful "general" way)
and Pablo Neruda (Poem 20: which spoke to me in a very specific, direct way).
For sure, the powerful mixture of visual and audio - having the poems read by
Robert Bly / Coleman Barks etc - was really quite stunning. P W
I thought the film was
magnificent & I can't get it out of my senses....it keeps coming back. I
loved all of the elements...the poetry that you used, the voices, the music & of
course the riveting visuals. B L
I recently viewed the
Rant/Rave flicks at the Cleveland International Film Festival I absolutely loved them.

and social criticism since discovering Mr. Campbell's works back in graduate

I just saw a part
of the film, State of the Union in NY. I was so struck with the truth, honesty
and depth explored, becasue I rarely or never see that kind of visual work in
media. Truly, some of the ideas presented are rarely seen in the US becasue they
go against the capitalistic work ethic that all should be exploited for profit,
that the dollar is the allmighty value in the land. Your work emphasizes the
human spirit instead and it inspired me so that i wrote some notes and waited
for the credits in order to find out more information about you. D R

who need to 'get it',now. Many more people need to have their voices heard and
